January 8, 1991: Def Leppard guitarist Steve Clark is found dead in his London home. An autopsy concludes that he died from a lethal combination of alcohol and drugs.

January 11, 1963: Whiskey A-Go-Go opens in Los Angeles

January 22, 1990: GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash swore numerous times on live television while accepting an American Music Award. Viewers swamped the ABC-TV switchboard with irate calls and the network apologized.

January--- 1984: WHITESNAKE release Slide It In.

January--- 1997: W.A.S.P. are scheduled in Germany. Rumour has it that they will only play if Blackie Lawless is supplied with a live pig that will be killed onstage.

February--- 1997: GUNS N' ROSES leader Axl Rose buys the rights to the name "Guns N' Roses, and can put out any music he wants under that moniker, played by anyone he chooses," according to (ex) G'NR guitarist Slash.

February 14, 1987: BON JOVI hit #1 with 'Livin' On A Prayer'.

February--- 1989: the Billboard Top 200 featured the following Top Ten: 2.- GUNS N' ROSES: Appetite For Destruction, 5.- GUNS N' ROSES: G N' R Lies, 6.- DEF LEPPARD: Hysteria, 7.- BON JOVI: New Jersey, 9.- POISON: Open Up And Say...Ahh!

February 23, 1978: WHITESNAKE performs first concert in Nottingham, England.

April 2004: DIO's website confirms that bassist Rudy Sarzo (ex-QUIET RIOT/OZZY OSBOURNE/WHITESNAKE) has joined Dio's band.

June 2003: "Headbanger" is officially added to the new edition of the Collegiate Dictionary from Merriam-Webster, defined as both a hard rock musician and a fan.

July 12, 1992:-- GUNS N' ROSES singer Axl Rose was arrested at New York's JFK airport on a warrant from St. Louis. Rose was wanted on charges stemming from a riot during a 1991 GN'R concert.

July 12, 1999:-- FIREHOUSE are inducted into the South Carolina Hall of Fame.

July 14, 1997:-- MOTLEY CRUE's Generation Swine debuts at #4 on the Billboard top 200 with first-week sales of over 80,000 copies.

July 14, 1997:-- Slash states that the reason he split with Axl and GUNS N' ROSES is that the pair didn't see eye to eye on the musical direction of the band.

July 14, 1998:-- RATT signs with Sony.

July 24, 1982: TWISTED SISTER performed their first UK gig.

August 1, 1981: MTV is launched in an estimated 2.1 million homes. First video: THE BUGGLES' 'Video Killed The Radio Star'.

November 9, 1993: MOTLEY CRUE drummer Tommy Lee is arrested for trying to conceal a gun on an airplane.

2001: WARRANT frontman Jani Lane is hired to run the kitchen at Blind Lemon restaurant in Cleveland.

November 15, 2000: TESLA reunite.

November 25, 1997: WHITESNAKE releases the unplugged Starkers In Tokyo.

2002: former BLACK 'N BLUE vocalist Jaime St. James inks a management agreement with Jeff Keller Management.

2003: it is announced that MOTLEY CRUE's VINCE NEIL faces an April 22nd trial in Dayton Justice Court on a charge he grabbed a prostitute by the neck on July 10th and threw her against a wall.

November 26, 1984: QUIET RIOT's Metal Health reaches #1 on Billboard.

November 28, 1990: law enforcement officials in Los Angeles decide there isn't enough evidence to prosecute singer AXL ROSE for assault in connection with a dispute involving his neighbor. The neighbor claims that Rose hit her over the head with an empty wine bottle.

December 8, 1984: HANOI ROCKS Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley is killed in a car accident with MOTLEY CRUE's Vince Neil at the wheel. Neil was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

December 11, 1976: KISS guitarist Ace Frehley is nearly electrocuted during a concert in Florida when he touches a short circuited light. He is carried from the stage but returns 10 minutes later to finish the show.

1999: QUIET RIOT singer Kevin DuBrow is arrested for failing to pay off a concert goer who sued him five years ago. DuBrow is accused of not paying a $105,000 judgment awarded to a woman who alleged DuBrow broke her leg at a 1994 concert when he threw an audience member off the stage and on top of her.
